In 2014 INTAN introduced a new course Pensijilan Pengurusan Projek Awam Bersepadu (Integrated Public Project Management Certification) course or 3PAB, aimed at improving public officers’ knowledge and skills in the field of project management. This initiative is in line with the Public Service Department's (PSD) Transformation Programme and meets the call for a comprehensive and high impact project management course specifically designed for public officers as suggested in the annual Auditor General’s Report. This course is conducted in collaboration with the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department, Public Works Department (PWD), MARA University of Technology (UiTM) and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

3PAB was designed as an integrated course employing a variety of methods for teaching and learning, as well as evaluation of participants before certification can be awarded. 3PAB’s training methods incorporate lectures, case studies, simulations, site visits and project placements. For project placement, participants are assigned to various ministries/departments/agencies or PWD’s projects, where they are to prepare a formatted analysis of the projects whilst being monitored and evaluated by appointed supervisors.
