Abstract

This case study investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on playschool and kindergarten in Malaysia. The study examines the factors that influence kindergarten and preschool resilience during the pandemic, focusing on flexibility, responsiveness, readiness and digitalization. It also explores the strategies that the schools employed to enhance its operational resilience which include the teaching and learning process, particularly emphasizing the underpinning agile approach, social constructivism theory, and resource-based view theory. The study concludes that the school successfully navigated the pandemic by implementing innovative solutions, enhancing resource management, and the well-being of their employees and students. The study further recommends that other organizations learn from another's experience to build stronger operational resilience and adapt to unexpected challenges.
