The Journal of Economics and Policy (JEP) is committed to maintaining high standards of professional and academic conduct throughout the submission, peer-review, editorial and publication processes. Authors, editors and reviewers are expected to uphold the principles of academic integrity, fairness, confidentiality and transparency and to comply with accepted standards of scholarly publishing.

Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are original, accurate and prepared in accordance with appropriate professional and academic standards.
Authors must ensure that:
• their submissions are original work and have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere;
• all sources and contributions from other works are properly acknowledged and cited using traceable sources;
• the manuscript does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification or inappropriate manipulation of information or research findings;
• all persons listed as authors have made an appropriate contribution to the work and have approved the manuscript for submission;
• any relevant conflicts of interest, financial support or funding are appropriately disclosed; and
• any significant error or inaccuracy identified after submission or publication is promptly brought to the attention of the Editor.
Authors are encouraged to consult the JEP Author Guidelines and Submission Guidelines when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.
Reviewers
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts fairly, objectively and confidentially.
They should provide constructive comments, declare conflicts of interest, respect the double-blind review process and not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.
Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated fairly, objectively and confidentially.
Editorial decisions shall be based on the academic quality, originality, relevance and suitability of the manuscript for JEP. Decisions shall not be influenced by an author's institutional affiliation, position, personal background or other considerations unrelated to the scholarly merit of the submission.
Editors shall maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, appropriately manage conflicts of interest, and ensure the integrity and independence of the peer-review process.
Where possible research or publication misconduct is identified, the editors shall consider the matter fairly and take appropriate action in accordance with the journal's policies.
Duplicate and Concurrent Submissions
All authors are required to provide a cover letter or email with their initial submission confirming that the manuscript is not currently under review by another journal or publisher and has not previously been published elsewhere.
JEP will not proceed with the editorial review of a manuscript until such confirmation has been provided.
Authors submitting Book Reviews must confirm that the review is original, has not previously been published elsewhere, is not currently under consideration elsewhere, and that publication rights have not been granted to another party.
Originality and Plagiarism
INTAN requires the use of Turnitin, an online similarity-detection application, to support the identification of potential plagiarism and academic dishonesty. Authors are required to submit a Turnitin similarity report together with their manuscript.
The similarity index must not exceed 30%. However, the similarity score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The nature and sources of any similarity may also be considered during editorial screening.
Authors remain fully responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy and integrity of their work.
Research and Publication Misconduct
Research and publication misconduct may include, but is not limited to, plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of information or research findings, duplicate or concurrent submission, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and other deliberate practices that compromise the integrity of the scholarly publication process.
JEP reserves the right to investigate any submission where there are reasonable grounds to suspect research or publication misconduct.
Procedures for Handling Suspected Misconduct
If JEP suspects possible misconduct, the journal will contact the author concerned and provide an opportunity for clarification.
Where duplicate or concurrent submission is suspected, JEP may consult the other journal or publisher concerned.
Where plagiarism or other research misconduct is suspected, JEP will conduct an appropriate investigation based on the available evidence.
If serious misconduct is established, the editors may reject or withdraw the manuscript from consideration.
Corrections and Retractions
Where misconduct or significant error is identified after publication, JEP may take appropriate corrective action, including the publication of a correction, retraction or other editorial notice, where necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
All allegations of misconduct shall, as far as reasonably possible, be handled fairly, objectively and confidentially.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions or the publication process. Complaints and appeals should be considered fairly, objectively and in accordance with JEP's editorial policies.
The final editorial decision remains with the Editorial Committee.
Commitment to Publication Integrity
JEP seeks to maintain the integrity and credibility of its scholarly publication process through appropriate editorial screening, peer review and procedures for addressing suspected misconduct.
Authors, reviewers and editors are expected to cooperate fully with any reasonable inquiry concerning possible breaches of publication ethics.
