Background
Proposed by the former Chief Secretary to the Government, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Ali bin Hamsa, during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) in April 2013, the Corporate Directors' Leadership and Integrity (CDLI) course was introduced. The aim was to provide a specialised programme for government representatives appointed as board members of Government-Linked Companies (GLCs).
Since its commencement in 2013, the CDLI course has been the flagship programme offered by INTAN, designed to elevate the knowledge and skills of civil servants serving as board members of GLCs. By empowering these individuals, the course seeks to facilitate their significant contributions toward achieving the objectives and goals of these organisations.
Course Objectives
The CDLI course aims to achieve the following objectives for its participants:
- Explain the role of a board member based on the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
- Enhance skills as a board member in alignment with the provisions under the Malaysian Companies Act 2016.
- Increase effectiveness as a board member in accordance with the provisions under the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.

Prerequisite Qualifications
The course is open to officers in Grade 41 and above serving in Ministries/Departments/Agencies at the federal and state levels, including federal and state statutory bodies. It is specifically tailored for officers appointed as board members of Government-Linked Companies and statutory bodies at the Federal and State levels.
Upon successful completion of the CDLI course assessment test, participants will be awarded the CDLI course competency certificate.
